Dr. Henderson is a board-eligible plastic surgeon who offers the full spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive care. He has a strong interest in comprehensive aesthetic surgery and a unique skill set for microsurgical breast reconstruction. His practice is defined by providing natural-appearing results that help patients feel whole, while keeping them safe throughout the process. He enjoys the artistic demand of both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and offers a wide array of surgical solutions, ensuring his patients’ goals are at the center of every consultation.
He completed his integrated plastic surgery training at West Virginia University, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He chose to pursue additional specialized fellowship training in microsurgery at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the preeminent institutions for microsurgical training. During this additional fellowship training year, he gained extensive experience in autologous breast reconstruction and lymphatic surgery. He eagerly brings these state-of-the-art techniques to the Center for Advanced Breast Reconstruction at North Beach Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Henderson knew from an early age he wanted to become a physician. Acceptance into the Guaranteed Entrance to Medical School program led to his undergraduate enrollment at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY, where he studied Biology. He continued his medical education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. A stand-out from his medical school class, he was recruited to the integrated plastic surgery residency training program at West Virginia University. During his residency years, he was appointed to several national committees in the Aesthetic Society and American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
While maintaining a busy clinical practice, Dr. Henderson continues his commitment to the surgical community through scientific advancement. He has published many articles in rigorous peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals and has been recognized for his dedication to education. Having been invited to speak at several national conferences, he typically presents on the topics of aesthetic and microsurgical reconstructive surgery. He often engages with leaders in the field from around the world, ensuring he is offering the best techniques and safest outcomes for his patients.
Dr. Henderson also has a passion for medical missions and has served in leadership roles on multiple trips to Haiti and Brazil. He is committed to this effort and is thankful to be able to give back on a consistent basis in these settings. Dr. Henderson embarked on his medical journey alongside his wife, Edie, who is an Ob/Gyn. They have a young daughter and are expecting a son this summer. He enjoys spending time with his family, running, and being involved in his church community.
