Catherine Pyle is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner committed to the plastic surgical needs of patients at North Beach Plastic Surgery. Catherine has specialized in caring for the dermatological needs of patients referred to North Beach requiring plastic surgical intervention including skin cancer removal, Mohs reconstruction, as well as other skin lesion removals such as cysts and lipomas. Additionally, Catherine’s extensive experience with pediatric patients combined with her passion for plastic surgical reconstruction has given her the unique opportunity to specialize in nonsurgical interventions for newborn infants with ear deformities.
Catherine was born and raised in Virginia Beach. She is a graduate of Norfolk Academy and Villanova University’s College of Nursing. While at Villanova, Catherine was on both the swim and lacrosse club teams. She also served as a volunteer EMT for the town of Villanova. She graduated Cum Laude from Villanova University with her Bachelor in the Science of Nursing and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
After graduation, Catherine worked in a specialized, acute care unit at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. She was cross-trained as a trauma nurse and developed a strong skill set for patients with traumatic injuries and wounds requiring complex closures. During her time at Rady Children’s Hospital, she was nominated for 3 Daisy Awards which are awarded to nurses who exemplify extraordinary compassion and skillful nursing care to patients and their families.
After four years in San Diego, Catherine returned to Virginia Beach to be closer to family and to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing through Old Dominion University. Catherine graduated from Old Dominion University Summa Cum Laude and was hired full-time with the practice as a board-certified nurse practitioner. She is currently accepting new patients in her Virginia Beach and Chesapeake locations.
