A native of Virginia Beach, Caroline's healthcare journey began at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. She then enhanced her clinical skills as a Registered Nurse on the Advanced Heart Failure Unit at Sentara Heart Hospital for three years, earning accolades such as the Daisy Team Award and the Beacon Award for Excellence, highlighting her exceptional patient care, compassion, and expertise.
Driven by a passion for preventative medicine discovered during her tenure at Sentara, Caroline pursued a Master of Nursing at Vanderbilt University. There, she was distinguished with the Bottorff Family Scholarship and the Helen Tanley Alford Scholarship for academic excellence. Upon graduation, Caroline served as a Primary Care Provider in Christiansburg, VA. Over three years, she provided comprehensive care to a diverse patient demographic, always ensuring high standards of care and utilizing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
