Dr. Richard S. Rosenblum was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He attended Norfolk Academy and matriculated to Colgate University where he graduated with honors and was a member of the football team. He returned to Virginia and chose the Medical College of Virginia to complete his medical education. He was then selected by the University of Kentucky for general surgical training and specialty training in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck surgery.
With a passion to become a Craniofacial surgeon he was invited to complete his plastic surgical training at the prestigious Vanderbilt University which is widely regarded as the elite plastic surgery training program of the south. With a lifelong passion to help children with facial deformities, he did an extra year of Craniofacial surgery training with Dr. William Magee and Operation Smile where he traveled to over 5 countries and operated on hundreds of children with cleft lip and palate issues. He then completed a three month intensive cosmetic training in Paris with world renowned surgeons before returning to Hampton Roads to join Dr. Magee in practice creating Magee Rosenblum plastic surgery.
In 2005, he created Rosenblum Plastic Surgery and built a free standing office, medical spa and fully accredited surgery center at the corner of Shore Drive and Great Neck road. It is here that he pioneered a short scar breast lift called the HOVER Lift and a radically different approach to facelifts with the FLEX neck deep plane neck lift. He then continued to add partners that share his patient-first mentality and created the largest group in the area for plastic and cosmetic surgery. While the group is currently diversified to cater to any patient’s individual needs, Dr. Rosenblum is focused on both the business development of centers of excellence to serve our community while maintaining an exclusive clinical practice focused on facial rejuvenation and breast augmentation.
In order to balance his time in directing the practice and continuing to see patients, Dr. Rosenblum has carefully added surgeons who not only share his core values of patient care but who each specifically have demonstrated expertise in areas in which he no longer focuses. His partners include Dr. Alex Sailon who concentrates on rhinoplasty and nasal cosmetic surgery, Dr. Eric Jablonka who is a micro surgeon and will direct the Breast Restoration Center of Excellence and provide the elite DIEP flap to our community, and Dr. Alexandra C. Tilt who is a breast and body contouring expert. With four fellowships between them, the group on shore drive continues to be the place to go for plastic and reconstructive needs for the 757 because “life looks better when you do”(TM).
